bang the table for the Carolina Panthers to use a late round draft selection on
the best player from my alma mater and football powerhouse Appalachian State
University. It has only worked for me one time, but when it did, unfortunately
the Panthers were a little overzealous and enthusiastic about my evaluation and
took Armanti Edwards in the third round many years ago (for the record, even I
suggested that he only be a 5th rounder or later, and should not be converted to
receiver).This

the 2018 college football season, Jalin Moore was considered by many scouts to
be one of the ten best running back prospects in the entire country, with some
placing him in the top five. Unfortunately, this season he suffered a fairly
serious ankle injury in the Mountaineers fifth game of the season versus
Arkansas State

Horton Jersey , and was sidelined for the remainder of the season as well
as the Senior Bowl. Before going out for the year, Jalin had an excellent game
on a national stage in the Mountaineers overtime loss to Penn State, where he
went 88 yards on 18 carries and 36 yards on five catches as well as a rushing
touchdown. The Mountaineers slaughtered their next three opponents, so Jalin was
usually shut down by halftime or shortly after, but still managed to post a
couple of 100-yard plus games before his injury.Moore is an excellent back with
a wide ranging skill set. He has superior vision and excellent power in his legs
despite an average frame. He is a capable pass catcher out of the backfield,
though he did not get many opportunities to showcase that at Appalachian because
of the dual-threat nature of their quarterbacks and overall great pass
protection. In space, he is an absolute
demon

that opportunity. Between the tackles, he is a decisive runner that is rarely
tackled for a loss.On the downside, as mentioned earlier, Moore is coming off of
a serious ankle injury that has kept him out of football for four months. He has
received an invite to the NFL combine, and will need to make the most of that
opportunity since he missed the Senior Bowl. I would expect that even if he does
miss that shot, the Panthers would take a look at him on a pro day or a private
workout since he is a local prospect. The team needs a backup running back, and
he could be an option that would likely cost very little in terms of draft
capital

Person at the Charlotte Observer, Carolina Panthers tight end Chris Manhertz
will begin training camp on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list
following ankle surgery earlier in the summer.Manhertz—who is primarily used as
a blocking tight end in the Panthers offense—was penciled in as the No. 2 tight
end on the depth chart behind Greg Olsen prior to sustaining the injury during
minicamp in June. Ian Thomas—whom the Panthers drafted in the fourth round of
the 2018 NFL Draft—is expected to see more action in the preseason while
Manhertz recovers from surgery. This is a really tough break for Manhertz, who
was hoping to get a strong foothold on the No. 2 tight end spot this season.
It’s unfortunate that his season could be over before he’s able to step onto the
