Perez Jersey , we’ll be taking a look at each position for the Twins, the
presumed starter, and the other options in the organization. Today we’ll be
looking at second base.The Presumed Starter: Jonathan SchoopJonathan Schoop is
new to the Twins, coming over from Milwaukee over the offseason. After Schoop
struggled last year, the Brewers cut him for some reason this winter, and he
agreed to a one year deal with Minnesota. (Seriously, they’re going to try Mike
Moustakas at second. Who signed off on that idea?) Over a six-year MLB career,
Schoop has racked up 11.6 WAR and a .258/.294/.444 batting line. In 2017 he was
an all-star with Baltimore, hitting a career-best .293/.338/.503. ZiPS projects
him to hit .260/.300/.453 and stroke 25 longballs. This would be a regression to
his career norms, as he would be a 2.2-win player.The Bench Guys: Ehire

Robinson Jersey , Marwin Gonzalez, Ronald Torreyes, Nick GordonAdrianza
has appeared in 66 games at second base over this career. He hasn’t been great
there, but he hasn’t exactly been bad, either. We covered his projections a
couple days ago, but we all kind of have an idea what he brings to the Twins
roster just based on the last few seasons.Gonzalez came up as a shortstop, so in
theory should cover second fairly well. In his 110 career games at second, that
seems to be borne out. He’ll likely start the season as the primary third
baseman for the Twins, but once Miguel Sano returns to the line-up, Gonzalez
will likely appear at second fairly
often

likely start the season at Rochester, but could easily be called up in case of
an extended absence by one of the 25-man roster players.Nick Gordon has some
experience playing second base in the minor leagues, and many believe that may
be where his MLB future lies. If he forces a call up, the Twins suffer injuries,
or we get to the point rosters expand, he may be penciled into second as
well.Willians Astudillo also has appeared at second base, so you never
