导出博客文章Need to catch up with whats happening in the world of sports and pop culture?
Dont worry, I got you.1. Did the Olympics keep you up way too late last night,
and now your Monday morning routine is a struggle? Dont worry. I guarantee youre
not alone.2. Id venture to say that most of America is in an Olympic zone, but
whats your vote for worst sport? FiveThirtyEight literally did the math to find
out which sport tops the list. Where does your pick rank?3. I wont cast a vote
for worst sport, but Im throwing all of my support behind Team USA?womens
gymnastics. Are they the most lovable Olympic squad of all time? Id say yes.4.
Can we please demand a rule change, though? I agree with Aly Raisman, who said
that limiting the all-around competition to two athletes per country is
heartbreaking.?5. Michael Phelps won his 19th gold medal last night?in the mens
4x100m relay. Is he the most electrifying athlete to watch at the Games? Hes
incredible.6. But what were those red circles all over Phelps body?7. And?Katie
Ledecky: wow. What else is there to say about her?8. Well, besides wondering if
youve ever seen a more decisive finish in an Olympic swimming event than this?
And a world record to boot.9. Speaking of blowouts, the USA womens basketball
team beat Senegal by 65 points. SIXTY-FIVE POINTS. The margin of victory was an
Olympic record. Is there any doubt theyre returning home with the gold?10.?The
men also dominated in their first game. The most competitive part was a?surprise
rock-paper-scissors session between DeMar DeRozan and Jimmy Butler. But did
DeRozan cheat??11. It hasnt been all wins for Team USA, though. Are you shocked
that, for the first time ever in the Games, Venus and Serena Williams were
ousted in the first round of their doubles event? What an upset.12.?But before
we get too far from it, lets talk about those outfits at the opening
ceremonies.?Who wore it best??13.?And who had the best moment in the opening
ceremonies: Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, or the shirtless Tonga
man?14.?If you can believe it, there was lots of non-Rio news over the weekend.
The MLBs trade deadline resulted in a fire sale in the Bronx: trades
galore;?Mark Teixeira announced hell retire at the end of the season;?and then,
of course,?Alex Rodriguez will suit up as a Yankee for the last time on Aug.12.
New York fans, are you prepared to endure a loooong rebuilding phase? Sigh.15.
Now that A-Rods days in pinstripes are almost over, are you sympathetic to how
it all ended for him? Im not.16. Also, do you think he belongs in Cooperstown as
a Hall of Famer? I dont.17. Ichiro Suzuki joined the 3,000-hit club on Sunday.
Are you, like me, a bit surprised he didnt achieve this milestone sooner?18.
Speaking of Hall of Famers and milestones, did you watch Brett Favres NFL Hall
of Fame induction speech? It was lengthy, but one that you shouldnt miss.19.
After former Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy, player Marvin Harrison and
Favre were inducted in to the HOF this weekend,?a field fiasco put a damper on
an otherwise fantastic weekend for Packers and Colts fans. Can you think of a
bigger letdown?20.?So just when we thought NFL was back, the unthinkable
happened ^^. How will we survive another week? Oh, by watching more Olympics,
thats how. Go USA!Shana Renee is the founder and editor-in-chief of?All Sports
