PHOENIX -- Nothing like a trip to Chase Field to turn things around for the New York Mets.
Air Jordan 1 Sale . Dillon Gee allowed three hits in seven scoreless innings, and the Mets beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-2 Wednesday to complete a three-game sweep. Arizona finished an 0-6 homestand in which it led at the end of just one inning and dropped to 1-11 in home games, including a pair of losses in Australia that started the season. At 4-14, the Diamondbacks are off to their worst 18-game start. "I dont know what were in need of besides playing better baseball -- an exorcism of something," Arizona starter Brandon McCarthy said. "Weve crossed over into that bad side. Obviously morales low. Youve got a team thats fighting and doing everything to get out of it, but we just cant seem to climb out of it really in any sense." Gee (1-0) retired his first 14 batters before Martin Prados double down the left-field line. He struck out three, walked none and threw 72 pitches. Gee also had an RBI groundout and made a nice play in the sixth after centerfielder Kirk Nieuwenhuis failed in a diving attempt to catch Gerardo Parras blooper. Parra took off for second and Gee, seeing no one covering the base, rushed to the bag and tagged the runner out on the throw from shortstop Ruben Tejada. Gee pitched at least six innings for the 24th time in his last 26 starts. "It all kind of clicked today, and I felt pretty good," he said. Catcher Anthony Recker said "you could tell when he was warming up in the pen he had really good stuff, and he was able to carry it into the game." Mets manager Terry Collins said he pulled Gee after a couple of pitches were hit hard off him. "Terry did what he had to do, and I respect it," Gee said, "but I definitely want to keep going." Recker hit a solo homer off McCarthy. Two errors led to the final two Mets runs in the ninth. New York has won four of five and went 6-3 on its trip, extending its Chase Field winning streak to five. "A tremendous road trip," Collins said. "They picked it up, they got big hits when we needed hits." Starting pitching has been the biggest problem in the Diamondbacks skid, but not this time. McCarthy (0-3) gave up three runs, nine hits and three walks -- two intentional -- in 5 2-3 innings. "Mack threw good enough to win that game," Arizona manager Kirk Gibson said. "We played poorly. We continue to play poorly. ... We made mistakes, we ran into an out, we made a couple of errors, were not able to contain guys running the bases and were not able to throw the ball to first base." Aaron Hill and Paul Goldschmidt homered off Jose Valverde in the ninth, and Prado had three hits for the Diamondbacks. Recker homered in the second, Nieuwenhuis had a sacrifice fly in the fourth and Gees RBI made it 3-0 in the sixth. When Goldschmidt doubled off the centre-field wall with one out in the seventh, Miguel Montero hit a drive to right that Andrew Brown caught with a leap at the fence. Goldschmidt was stranded when Mark Trumbo grounded out weakly to shortstop. "I really want to continue this momentum going back home," Young said. "It was definitely a good road trip as a team. We put that first home stand behind us and now we can continue where we want to go." NOTES: Young twice stole second and has nine steals this season. ... The Mets selected RHP Daisuke Matsuzakas contract from Triple-A Las Vegas and sent LHP John Lannan outright to Las Vegas. Lannan can refuse the assignment and elect to become a free agent. ... Both teams have Thursday off. ... The Diamondbacks were 5-13 to start their inaugural 1998 season.

The rookies best save came with 2:17 left in the third period when he denied former Wild forward Matt Cullen from just outside of the crease on the right side.

The Redblacks host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (7-9) Friday night in their last home game of the year and as of Thursday afternoon, the team was anticipating a ninth consecutive sellout. You can watch all the action on TSN1, TSN3, TSN4, and TSN5 beginning at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt. Fans can also listen to the action on TSN 1200 Ottawa. Head coach Rick Campbell says he would love nothing more than to send fans home with a victory as their final memory of their inaugural season. If that (sellout) happens its a pretty cool deal and a pretty big deal that you could sell out a whole season of a brand new football team, said Campbell. We want to give our fans something to cheer about. Our guys dont take it lightly about having a sellout for the whole season. Its a big deal and our players know its a big deal. In addition, Ottawa has the opportunity to play the role of spoiler. The Tiger-Cats, who are tied with Toronto for second in the East Division, are still looking to make the post-season and a win over the Redblacks could be essential to their playoff hopes. If theres one team and one game we want to win its this game right here, said Redblacks quarterback Henry Burris, who played for the Tiger-Cats last season and was released in the off-season. Teams have played spoiler for us in our new season so hopefully we can play spoiler on this occasion. Campbell says the teams focus is on its own game, but Jovon Johnson admitted the idea of spoiling Hamiltons playoff hopes is appealing. At this point, since we know were not going forward in the playoffs and knowing how tight the race is in the East, we have every intention of playing spoiler, said Johnson. That will definitely be part of the plan. The Tiger-Cats havent had much success on the road this season, going 1-7 away from Hamilton but have defeated Ottawa twice this season. The two teams played two weeks ago where the Tiger-Cats defeated the Redblacks 16-6, but with a few adjustmentts the Redblacks believe the result could have been very different.
Cheap Air Jordan 1 Authentic. . Weve just got to finish our drives on the offence, said Burris. The defence did a great job of holding them at bay, but if we can pull on our side and put the ball in positions to score and make some plays when we have the chance, thats the stuff thats been killing us all year and until we overcome those kinds of things well continually put ourselves in bad positions. But I have a good feeling about this one. Once again the Redblacks will give rookie quarterback Danny OBrien an opportunity to play. Campbell said he anticipates OBrien will play at least five or six series over the course of the game. Last week against Montreal OBrien went 3 for 5 for 111 yards with one touchdown and one interception. We think hes a good player with a future and we want to get a look at him,. Campbell said. OBrien was originally No. 3 on Ottawas depth chart, but moved up after Thomas DeMarco suffered a season-ending injury in late August. Overall OBrien is 10 for 19 this season (52.6 per cent) for 177 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Burris has just one touchdown at TD Place. Antoine Pruneau, who was named the CFLs top Canadian for the month of October, was impressive in the Redblacks 16-6 loss to Hamilton two weeks ago where he had nine tackles and one sack. Pruneau leads all CFL rookies in defensive tackles this season with 62 and in his last 11 games as a starter, has led the Redblacks with 59 tackles. We know what theyre looking to accomplish and if we can stop them it would be an added bonus, said Pruneau. We know its going to be an intense game, but we were already very motivated to come out and play hard. This is our last home game and the best thing we could do is finish our season here with a win. Notes: On the offensive line, JMichael Deane will play at tackle, Jon Gott will play guard and Alexander Krausnick will play centre. Dobson Collins will play at receiver. On defence, Moton Hokins will play. Eddie Elder will not play Friday. ... Burris says his kids are willing to pass up trick or treating to come and watch him play.
