CHICAGO -- It was a night of individual achievements for the Kansas City Royals and another step closer to a dubious distinction for the Chicago White Sox on Friday. Zach Britton Jersey . Royals pitcher James Shields struck out 10 and scattered four hits over seven innings for his 100th career win, and the Royals beat Chicago 6-1 to ensure the White Sox of their worst record since 1970. Shields (13-9) gave up just one run and walked one as Chicago lost its fourth straight. "Im really excited I got my 100th win today," Shields said. "Im just proud of my season this year. A hundred wins in the big leagues is a pretty special moment." Also receiving accolades was Royals third baseman Jamey Carroll, whose fourth-inning double was the 1,000th hit of his major league career. "Its something one day you can look back and have a lot of pride in, when your kids are asking what that balls for or what that jersey is all about," Carroll said, adding with a laugh, "only 22 more years to 3,000." Carrolls teammates put a bottle of 1,000 Island salad dressing in his locker as a memento of his achievement. The mood in the White Sox locker room was more sombre. At 62-98 and with two games remaining, the White Sox will finish with the second-most losses in franchise history, ahead of only the team that went 56-106 more than four decades ago. "Nobody wants that," manager Robin Ventura said before the game of reaching 100 losses. "Is it going to be the big difference going into next year? Probably not, but nobody wants that." The White Sox will finish last in their division for the first time since 1989 (69-92), and will end the season with a losing record against every team in the American League. Billy Butler led the Royals with three hits and two RBIs, while Emilio Bonifacio drove in two runs with two hits. The Royals 85th win is their most since 1989 when they were 92-70. The Royals took a 3-0 lead in the first off White Sox starter Chris Sale (11-14). Bonifacio walked and stole second, moved to third on Eric Hosmers single, and both scored on Butlers double. Butler scored on Lorenzo Cains single. "To give Shields a 3-0 lead in the first, its quite comforting," Royals manager Ned Yost said. "Hes given us not only No. 1 starter stuff, hes provided great leadership, has been a great example for our guys. Hes a big part of our season and why were at 85 wins now." Kansas City, which has won 21 of its last 31, made it 4-0 in the fourth on Carrolls milestone double and scored on Bonifacios single. Sale was lifted with one out in the top of the sixth. He gave up four runs and nine hits, walked one and struck out five. He also hit a batter. "I think thats a reoccurring theme every year: My last (start is) always a bad one," Sale said. "Hopefully, I can fix that next year. I just didnt have it tonight." Sales replacement, Jacob Petricka, promptly gave up two runs. Alcides Escobar singled and scored on Alex Gordons double. Gordon scored on another single by Bonifacio. Chicagos run came on Gordon Beckhams fifth home run of the season in the sixth. The following batter, Alexei Ramirez, appeared to follow with another homer, but Gordon grabbed the ball at the fence in left field. NOTES: Having fallen out of the wild card race, the Royals are playing out the string this weekend. But Yost is proud of what his team accomplished in the second half of the season: "We have more wins than anybody in the American League since the All-Star break except Detroit, and theyre tied with us (coming into Friday). We feel like our organization has made great progress. We got to experience what it was like playing deep into September in a playoff race and it was great experience." . White Sox INF Jeff Keppinger had a successful debridement procedure on his right shoulder Thursday. Recovery will be two to three months. Keppinger should be back to full strength by the start of spring training. . White Sox 1B Paul Konerko, who will not make a decision on whether hell retire or return for one more season for at least a month, needs just six bases to break Frank Thomas team record for total bases (3,949). Dylan Bundy Jersey . Still, Inter moved one point ahead of Parma in the race for fifth place and the final Europa League spot. Udinese remained 14th, 11 points above the relegation zone. Inter was beaten 2-1 by Atalanta at home on Sunday and has won only seven of 16 matches at the San Siro this season, as the squad seems to still be searching for its identity under new owner Erick Thohir and first-year manager Walter Mazzarri. Cheap Orioles Jerseys China . But that changed when he committed a five-minute major penalty and helped pave the way for a comeback by the Philadelphia Flyers. Vincent Lecavalier scored at 2:45 of overtime and the Flyers rallied from a two-goal deficit for a 5-4 victory on Sunday. WASHINGTON -- The season isnt quite half over, and already New Jersey Devils coach Pete DeBoer might be running out ways to praise about Jaromir Jagr. Jagr had a goal and two assists, Andy Greene scored 43 seconds into overtime and Marek Zidlicky had two goals as the Devils rallied past the Washington Capitals 5-4 Saturday night. "He amazes me every night I come to the rink," DeBoer said of the 41-year-old forward. "I dont have a lot more adjectives to describe him, but hes a pleasure to work with." It was Jagrs 13th goal of the season and career No. 694, moving him into a tie with Mark Messier for seventh all-time. Greene, who knocked the rebound of a shot by Jagr past Braden Holtby for the game-winner, also had two assists. "I honestly cant remember the last overtime goal I scored," Greene said. Dainius Zubrus had a goal and an assist for New Jersey, which trailed 3-1 after two periods. "I think everyones surprised we came back (but) I think the least surprised guys are in our room," DeBoer said. "I think they felt confident all night they could still make a game of it." Alex Ovechkin scored his 30th goal and Joel Ward had a goal and an assist for Washington. The Capitals Jason Chimera and Mikhail Grabovski also scored and Martin Erat had two assists. Martin Brodeur made 18 saves for the Devils, who lost in overtime to Anaheim on Friday night. "Today, I felt like we were playing very good hockey the first two periods, and I look at the scoreboard and we were down 3-1," Jagr said. "That was kind of tough to swallow, but we got some lucky bounces in the third period, and tied the game and went into overtime again. "I thought we responded very well when we were down two goals, and its a big win for us," he said. Holtby finished with 32 saves in the first meeting of the season between Metropolitan Division rivals. "They are a relentless team. They kept coming," Capitals coach Adam Oates said. "We made a couple of mistakes." Jagr, on a power play, and Ovechkin traded third-period goals three minutes apart. Ziddlicky pulled the Devils within 4-3 when he beat Holtby from the slot at 9:21. Cal Ripken Jersey. New Jersey tied it when Travis Zajac intercepted Holtbys clearing attempt and fed in front to Zubrus, who poked it home at 11:47. "We just gave them a little momentum to get back into it and they capitalized on their chances right to the end," Ward said. Both teams were playing the second of back-to-back games and there was little action early on. Brodeur made several good stops during a Washington power play midway through the period. New Jersey got the man advantage when Tom Wilson went off for high-sticking at 10:52. Less than a minute later Greene fed Zidlicky in the left circle and Zidlicky one-timed a drive past Holtby on the short side to make it 1-0. It was New Jerseys first shot on goal. The Devils tested Holtby several times early in the second period, but he kept the deficit at one. Chimera finally tied it at the 10:07 mark when he came around the back of the net and tried to stuff the puck home. Brodeur made the initial save, but Chimera poked the loose puck past him. Grabovski gave Washington the lead at 14:38 of the period with his 10th of the year, off a feed from Eric Fehr in the left circle. "We kind of shot ourselves in the foot there in the second period," Greene said. "There were a couple of breakdowns and they capitalized." The Capitals went ahead 3-1 with 45 seconds left in the period. They skated in three on two and Mike Green fired from the right side. Brodeur made the save, but it went right to Ward who put it past him for his 11th of the season. "We played a good 40 minutes," Green said, "but we needed 60 tonight."
