disabled list after getting positive results from his MRI, a source confirmed to
ESPN on Friday.Manager Brad Ausmus said Zimmermanns MRI showed no tissue or
muscle damage, but the team wont make a final short-term decision until he
throws a bullpen session Sunday.Zimmermann, 30, started Thursday for the first
time since June 30 and was pulled after giving up six runs in just 1? innings,
matching the shortest start of his career. After the game, Ausmus said
Zimmermann was experiencing tightness in his lat muscle and was sent for
tests.Zimmermann was activated for the start after spending more than a month on
the disabled list as he recovered from a right neck strain.His next scheduled
start is Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners. The Tigers No. 2 starter, he has
a 6.44 ERA since May 1 after posting an MLB-best 0.55 ERA in April.Fox Sports
