season. The right-hander no-hit the Gwinnett Stripers through five innings
before being removed with a pitch count of 76. He struck out seven batters in
those five innings and walked two. Unfortunately, the Tides bullpen was unable
to preserve the no-hitter. But they were able to preserve the shutout. Norfolk
reliever Evan Phillips gave up a hit to the first batter he saw in the sixth,
but he combined with Branden Kline and Luis Gonzalez to shut down the Stripers
for the final four innings of the game. On offense, Christopher Bostick hit his
first long ball of the season, a solo shot, and went 2-for-3 on the night. Third
baseman Stevie Wilkerson was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Ryan

undergo surgery on his bothersome right knee, ending an injury-marred season
that started late and concluded early.Trumbo went on the 10-day disabled list
