Abdullah Jersey , in just a few hours it will be all over and done with.
All of the picks will be made and the undrafted free agent signing frenzy will
get underway. It looks like the Minnesota Vikings are going to have a pretty
active third day, whether it’s by actually making the nine picks they’ve
accumulated for today’s session or trading those picks to move around the board.
The Vikings have had a pretty solid draft through the first two days, but
there’s still plenty of room for more players to be added. We’ll be watching all
of the action here this morning and afternoon, folks. We hope that you’ll be

Kluckhohn-USA TODAY SportsOn Tuesday, the Minnesota Vikings held their final
press conference before the 2019 NFL Draft takes place this Thursday. The final
announcement of the press conference caused a lot of emotion in Eagan, and with
good reason.Rick Spielman has announced that Scott Studwell, who has been a part
of the Vikings’ organization for over four
decades
Brett Jones
Jersey , would be officially retiring.Studwell first came to the Vikings
as a player, as the purple drafted him in the ninth round of the 1977 NFL Draft
out of the University of Illinois. He spent 14 seasons with the Vikings as a
player, and he retired in 1990 as the team’s all-time leading tackler. He still
holds the team record for tackles in a season and tackles in a game. He was
named to the Vikings’ 25th and 40th Anniversary teams, and was also named one of
the 50 Greatest Vikings of All Time.He spent his first season following his
on-field retirement with the team as a Player Relations
rep
Dan Bailey
Jersey , and in 1992 he became the team’s Player Personnel Coordinator. He
held that job until 2002, when he became the team’s Director of College
Scouting.Studwell stepped down from that position just after the 2014 NFL Draft,
but remained a part of the team’s scouting department until today. At the press
conference, he joked that he’s already had “two and a half retirements” from the
Vikings
Tom Compton
Jersey , but made it clear that this would be the end of his run with the
team.Scott Studwell has been a part of the Minnesota Vikings’ organization for
42 years in some capacity. The only other people that are in that stratosphere
that I can think of are Bud Grant and Fred Zamberletti. He truly is a legend in
the annals of Minnesota Vikings history, and we wish him the best on his
retirement from the Vikings’ scouting department.
