导出博客文章WACO, Texas -- On a late November night two seasons ago, Oklahoma State suddenly
pulled the redshirt off their highly touted quarterback.Mason Rudolph lost his
debut that night at Baylor, but the Cowboys won their regular-season finale at
rival Oklahoma the next week to get bowl eligible.Oklahoma State then won its
first 10 games last season before a home loss to the Bears. In a Big 12 opener
Saturday night, Rudolph gets another chance to win against the only conference
opponent the junior quarterback hasnt defeated yet when the Cowboys (2-1) play
at 16th-ranked Baylor (3-0).When he was a freshman, he played down (in Waco),
and actually played pretty well. Since then, hes played in about 16 or 17 games
... Hes mature, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said.Rudolph, 14-4 as a starter,
threw for 540 yards last week in a win over Pittsburgh as the Cowboys rebounded
from an officiating debacle at the end of the Central Michigan game that cost
them a win. That was a school record for passing yards, and the most for any
quarterback this season. It was good to get some early adversity, Rudolph said.
Despite the loss, were stronger and better for it and were really excited about
league play. This will be the biggest test so far this season for Baylor, the
leagues only three-win team and along with West Virginia the only Big 12 teams
still without a loss. Two of the Bears victories have come against 0-3 teams.I
think were about as ready as were going to be, Bears quarterback Seth Russell
said. Its the start of a new season. Preseason is over with. As our strength
coaches say, `Its our heavyweight rounds. These guys are coming in swinging
hard, and we need to answer back.Other things to know when Oklahoma State plays
its first road game and becomes the first Big 12 team to play twice in Baylors
campus stadium that opened on the banks of the Brazos River in 2014ECONDARY
NIGHTMARESOklahoma States James Washington (19 catches, 399 yards, 3 TDs) and
Baylors KD Cannon (24 catches, 352 yards, 4 TDs) are the Big 12s top receivers.
Both had five catches and two touchdowns in last years matchup in Stillwater,
though Cannon had 210 yards receiving and Washington had 88. In the Cowboys
victory over Pitt, Washington had nine catches for 296 yards, including a
91-yard TD in the games first minute. Oklahoma State also has sophomore Jalen
McCleskey (six catches per game, fifth in Big 12) and senior Jhajuan Seales
(74.4 yards receiving per game, eighth in Big 12).RUNNING TRIOWhile Russell has
thrown nine TD passes, the Baylor quarterback has a trio of running backs that
he said complement each other for sure. Freshman JaMycal Hasty (79 yards per
game rushing), sophomore Terence Williams (77.3 ypg) and senior Shock Linwood
(71.0 ypg) are all in the top seven for rushing in the Big 12. Russell said
Linwood, the schools career rushing leader, has energy, intelligence and
experience, while Williams is the power guy and Hasty is the speedster who can
hit holes.NOT SO FASTBaylor has failed to score in the first quarter of its last
two games. That was after the Bears led all FBS teams last season by averaging
16.8 points in the first quarter, scoring at least 21 points five times. They
led 24-0 in the first quarter in this seasons opener against FCS team
Northwestern State.HOME AND AWAYBaylor is 31-3 at home since 2011, the nations
best home record in that span. Oklahoma State has won its last six true road
games, dating back to the 2014 regular season finale at Oklahoma, the week after

. The winner Saturday will remain in the elite
10-team field next year. "We talked about wanting to be disciplined and stick
with our game plan and good things will come," Draisaitl said, who had two goals
for the victors.European Tour chief executive Keith Pelley has hailed how plans
to speed up the sport got off to a positive start during the recent Desert
Swing, where round times were up to 19 minutes quicker. A new Pace of Play
policy was introduced at the start of the year to identify slow players, with
the aim to make the game more appealing to fans either at the course or watching
on television. As well as the ability to still officially time players, referees
now can issue a monitoring penalty for slow play, with world No 1 Jordan Spieth
the first recipient during his opening round in Abu Dhabi. Pelleys pledge was to
try and reduce round times by 15 minutes, with the new guidelines having an
immediate affect at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, Qatar Masters and the Dubai
Desert Classic. The measures saw average round times drop by five minutes during
Abu Dhabi compared to the previous years event, while rounds in Qatar were more
10 minutes quicker than they were in similar windy conditions in 2012. Spieth
took too long to line up his putt during the opening round in Abu Dhabi The
biggest change came in the last group times, which were 19 minutes and 14
seconds quicker in Qatar compared to four years ago, meaning an earlier finish
time for the tournament. It is terrific to see the policy has had an immediate
effect, even though we are still in the early stages of its implementation,
Pelley said. We said before our new measures were introduced in Abu Dhabi that
we wanted to take the lead on pace of play.I am also pleased that our members
have reacted positively to this change. We are continually striving to make our
product even more appealing and entertaining for our fans and this is a good
starting point. Chief referee John Paramor looking out for players playing too
slowly There is no quick fix for slow play, but this new policy is aimed at
empowering our referees to more effectively target the problem and I believe we
will see even more inroads made over the coming wweeks and months.dddddddddddd.A
total of 95 groups were monitored during the three early-season events, with
Spieth one of only five players to be handed a monitoring penalty.Daniel Brooks
(Abu Dhabi, round two), Benjamin Hebert (Abu Dhabi, round four), Eddie Pepperell
(Dubai, round one) and Gavin Green (Dubai, round two) complete the group, with
those five now set to receive a fine for each monitoring penalty they receive
during the rest of the season. Gary Christian believes stroke penalties and not
fines are the only way to address the issue of slow play on the golf course The
fines will increase for each following monitoring penalties, with players
punished if they exceed the time allowed for a shot - 50 seconds if first to
play and 40 seconds thereafter. It is important to note that our referees now
have the ability to apply monitoring penalties if they see a player take an
excessive amount of time over a shot, even if their group is in position on the
course, so our players are now more aware than ever that slow play is
unacceptable, Pelley added.Watch the European Tour throughout the season live on
