导出博客文章Double Olympic champion Nicola Adams has admitted she is considering several
offers to turn professional.Adams, who retained her womens flyweight title in
Rio, has met with promoters including Eddie Hearn to discuss the proposal.Adams
told BBC Sport: Ive had a few chats with a few promoters and I still need to
think about what I really want to do.There is still Tokyo and acting which Id
love to pursue, but the professional boxing world would be a big challenge. The
33-year-old has been set a deadline of March to decide whether to sign up for
another four-year Olympic cycle with the GB Boxing squad in Sheffield. Were she
to turn professional she would effectively forego any opportunity of going to
the 2020 Games in Tokyo, despite the relaxation of rules relating to
professional boxers at the Games.GB Boxing have made it clear they will only
consider selecting boxers who are fully committed to the GB programme.Womens
professional boxing boasts few if any truly global stars, with the current
flyweight number one, Jessica Chavez, having fought all of her 35 fights in
Mexico. However, given that Adams will be 37 years old in Tokyo -- making her one
of the oldest Olympic boxers -- she may consider a professional move worth the
risk.
